The main wine-making region of Georgia is Kakheti. In this picturesque region climate supports grape to be cultivated. Almost 70% of the vineyards blossom in this area.
In Georgia wine is recognized as divine liquid which is bound up with the country’s traditions and its culture dramatically customs. Wine production in Georgia date back to 8000 years and oldest species are kept and brought forward from which 40 are used for commercial wine.

SIGHTS TO VISIT

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY
Meeting at Tbilisi Airport. We start visiting Tbilisi from airport. City sightseeing tour starts with trinity Cathedral which was built in XXI century and is third highest temple in the Europe and is the highest in Transcaucasia. We will continue our way to visit Old Tbilisi and first place to visit will be Metekhi Church (XIII century), which is the symbol of Tbilisi together with the monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali. We will use rope-way and go up to main citadel of the city Narikala Fortress (IV century), from which the most wonderful view opens. Then after returning from fortress we will take a walk in small gorge of old Tbilisi which joins botanical garden. We will see famous sulfur baths. Baths have medical purpose and are very popular among Georgian as well as foreign tourists. We will take walk in narrow streets of Tbilisi. We will see Bridge of Peace – modern glass bridge on the river Mtkvari which with its architecture merges to old Tbilisi background. Dinner at Tbilisi restaurant with Georgian cuisine. After dinner we will visit National Museum of Georgia where we will see unique archaeological and historical things. Through passing freedom square we will go up to Mtatsminda (Sacred mountain) on 729 meters from sea level from which wonderful view to the city opens and is ideal place for creating peaceful environment. We will take walk in Mtatsminda Park as a result of which we will go back to the city. Supper with traditional dishes at Georgian restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Early in the morning we’ll go to the region where the first stop will be in Signagi called city of love. We will visit a local winery and taste the wine. Walking around the town. Then we will visit wine cellar and Numisi Museum in Velistsikhe, the oldest winery in the region (XVI century). Dinner at Numisi tasting white and black wines. We will continue our way to Kvareli and visit the wine cellar made in tunnel. We will taste wine made by European technology. The total length of tunnels 7.7 km. Supper and overnight in Chateau Shukhmani.
After breakfast we will go to Tsinandali to see the house museum of famous poet and public man Alexander Chavchavadze. We will visit palace with European garden occupying 12 hectares and taste the best white wine of Tsinandali wine cellar. We will continue our way to Kakheti Administration Center, city of Telavi. First place to visit will be Telavi farmer’s market, where you will be able to buy local fruit, homemade Georgian wine and vodka “chacha”, cheese and oven bread, Georgian delicatessen “Churchkhela” and others. Afterwards we will visit Gremi royal residence, which is XVI century architectural monument. We will continue travel to village Napareuli, where the wine company Twins’ Cellar is located and museum. We will see two-storey decorative pitcher which is possible to see the inside of it. We will get to know the Georgian traditional method for making wine. Supper and overnight in Château Mere.
After breakfast through the Gombori Pass we return back to Tbilisi. We will visit JSC Sarajishvili Wine and Beverages in Tbilisi. We will take part in XIX century wine brand degustation. It is possible also to buy here the bottle of wine from the old collection of the factory. In the evening we will see Tbilisi. Supper at Georgian restaurant with traditional dishes and folk music. Overnight in Tbilisi.
After breakfast transfer to airport. Departure.
